About Baby in Tokyo
Baby is my inspiration for Baby in Tokyo, but is also my main obstacle to developing this site, since every time he sees me on a computer he wants to watch cartoon bus videos on YouTube, and doesn't take no for an answer.
In fact, Baby is no longer a baby in the strict sense of the word, but he's still my baby, and that's good enough for me. If we move away from Tokyo that's when a new site with a new title will be in order I suppose.
Don't check back for updates. At least not more frequently than you change the oil in your car. I may not have changed (fixed) anything, and then you would be disappointed.
Original Description:
Eponymous Baby was born in October of last year, 2014, and currently (May 2015) likes the following:
- Gnawing on someone's fingers. This is usually done starting with the index or middle finger and working in order either towards or away from the thumb.
- Turning round in circles, counter-clockwise, when on all fours (which is most of the time he's awake). Rotational movement is helped by his round belly, which stays in contact with the floor even if his feet aren't.
- Blowing raspberries.
- Laughing hysterically when I shake a finger (or cucumber) at him.
Why this website?
My purpose in making this site is twofold: one, I hope it will eventually serve as a central collection of photos, videos, stories, and other tidbits of information to share with family and friends. Secondly, I need some means of practicing and experimenting with my nascent web building skills, and I can't do that without content. Baby = Content.
So there you have it, and here we are. Of course, if I end up sharing any details related to parenting in Tokyo that help someone out, all the better, but to be clear it's not my primary goal with this site. There are better sites out there dedicated to sharing information.
